The Talk discusses the use of Prisma and Mercurius in moving from REST API to GraphQL. Prisma improves the developer experience and allows for easy data modeling and type-safe queries. Mercurius is easy to learn if you already know Fastify and offers a performant GraphQL server. Fastify is preferred over Express for its active community and good performance. The ideal stack for Node.js includes Fastify for REST API and GraphQL, Prisma for the database, and the default provider like MongoDB.

In this speech, I'll talk about the benefit of using GraphQL and show a small demo of an endpoint created with Fastify Mercurius and Prisma.

This Workshop focuses on building a full-stack application with end-to-end type safety using React, GraphQL, and Prisma. It covers topics such as setting up Prisma, modeling the database schema, and applying database migrations. The Workshop also covers setting up the GraphQL server, querying the API, and bridging the gap between the frontend and backend with code generation. The goal is to ensure type safety and provide a smoother developer experience when making changes to the application.

In this workshop, you will get a first-hand look at what end-to-end type safety is and why it is important. Remix and Prisma enable front-end developers to become full-stack developers by working across different parts of the stack without diving into complexities. They provide a great framework for writing code and interacting with databases, making it easier to be a full-stack developer. Prisma's ORM allows mapping database models to JavaScript or JSON models. Developing a full stack app with Remix requires structuring components and loaders differently, but simplifies development by focusing on one place.

Remix gives developers the power to write their frontend and backend code in one unified location and language, which drops the fullstack barrier significantly for frontend devs and newer developers. The remaining piece, however, is the database. Throw Prisma into the mix and you've got a powerful fullstack experience with a very low learning curve. In this talk, we'll take a look at the amazing developer experience you get when you combine the two.

This Talk is about server-side authentication with Remix, Prisma, and the web platform. It covers adding authentication to a Remix app, troubleshooting and login setup, handling user login and session creation, creating user sessions and redirects, handling user ID retrieval and validation, and working with cookies in Remix. The speaker emphasizes that Remix is ready for production and suitable for enterprise apps. Remix simplifies the mental model and improves performance by bridging the network gap between the front end and back end.

In this talk, we'll get a live coded demo of building custom hand-rolled authentication. When you have the right tools (and we do), authentication can be quite simple and secure. This is more (and better) than just: "Install this library and you're good to go." When we're done we'll have our own auth code that can evolve with our ever-changing requirements without a need to learn some library-specific APIs. We'll be leveraging the Web Platform the way it was meant to be done to give us simple and secure server-side authentication for the web. Server-side Auth with Remix, Prisma, and the Web Platform

This Talk discusses database access on the edge with CloudFlare workers and the challenges of serverless platforms. It explores solutions for database access, including CloudFlare-specific solutions and using Prisma data proxy. The Prisma toolkit and demo are showcased, demonstrating how to convert an application to use a database. The process of setting up Prisma Data Platform and deploying the application to CloudFlare workers is explained. The Talk concludes with insights on database usage and the differences between serverless, CDN, and the Edge.

Edge functions are pushing the limit of serverless computing – but with new tools, come new challenges. Due to their limitations, edge functions don't allow talking to popular databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL. In this talk, you will learn how you can connect and interact with your database from Cloudflare Workers using the Prisma Data Proxy.
