Benchmark Rusty Parsers in JS
Watch video: Benchmark Rusty Parsers in JS
Today's talk focused on the use of REST in JavaScript and the challenges and benefits it presents. The presenter discussed benchmarking the performance of different parsers, with TypeScript consistently outperforming others. Understanding the benchmark results involved analyzing parse time, serialization, and deserialization time. JavaScript parsers had slower performance with concurrent parsing due to JavaScript's single-thread nature. The talk also touched on performance optimization techniques, such as avoiding serialization and utilizing multiple CPU cores. The event-based model with a tree sync was suggested as a way to optimize FFI. Overall, the talk provided valuable insights into the use and optimization of REST in JavaScript.

Auth0 and Vue: A Match Made in Heaven for Secure App Development
Hello Vue.js live. My name is Tyler Clark and today I'm giving a talk titled, Vue.js – Building secure applications. I'll be discussing the biggest app threats today, including brute force attacks, credential stuffing, and phishing. I'll also present solutions like WebAuthn for passwordless authentication using biometrics. As you can see here, use the credentials.create function to get a challenge from a server request. Then, pass the necessary information about the user and the acceptable public key types to the server. WebAuthn eliminates password-based flows, creating a secure private and public key pair.

In this hands-on workshop, you will be equipped with the tools to effectively test the security of web applications. This course is designed for beginners as well as those already familiar with web application security testing who wish to expand their knowledge. In a world where websites play an increasingly central role, ensuring the security of these technologies is crucial. Understanding the attacker's perspective and knowing the appropriate defense mechanisms have become essential skills for IT professionals. This workshop, led by the renowned trainer Gregor Biswanger, will guide you through the use of industry-standard pentesting tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, and the professional pentesting framework Metasploit. You will learn how to identify and exploit common vulnerabilities in web applications. Through practical exercises and challenges, you will be able to put your theoretical knowledge into practice and expand it. In this course, you will acquire the fundamental skills necessary to protect your websites from attacks and enhance the security of your systems.

What's New in npm?
Welcome to my talk on what's new in the NPM CLI. NPMv7 introduced many new capabilities, including installing peer dependencies by default. npm v7 also introduced support for workspaces, allowing the definition of projects within your root project. The NPM team is continuously improving the CLI with weekly releases and is working on exciting features in collaboration with GitHub. NPM is not an acronym for Node Package Manager, and the CLI will continue to improve with the support of the growing team.

Learn how to rapidly build peer-to-peer applications with Pear Runtime. No servers required. Understand peer-to-peer paradigms and construct applications from well-defined building blocks. This workshop will cover how to create both Desktop and Terminal applications (with discussion for Mobile) that work entirely peer-to-peer from anywhere in the world. By the end of this workshop you should know how to build a new type of highly scalable application with entirely reduced infrastructural costs (~0) along with suitable architectures and best practices for peer-to-peer applications. From the creator of Pear Runtime and the company that brings us keet.io. Table of content:- Introducing Pear- Initial Q & A- Getting Setup- Creating a Pear Desktop Application- Sharing a Pear Application- Running a Pear Application- Creating a Pear Terminal Application- Releasing a Pear Application- Architectural Discussions- Wrap-up Q & A
