Knut Melvær

Knut Melvær (b. 1985) is a graduate in the study of religion\s who has pivoted into technology. He is currently working as Head of Developer Relations at Sanity.io. Previously he has been a senior technology consultant at Netlife, a reknowned Norwegian UX- and Design Agency. Before that a PhD Fellow at the University of Bergen.
As a technology consultant, he has held workshops in user research, technology strategy, and web development. He has been involved in projects with a wide range of clients such as Energi og Klima, NDLA, Enivest, Fearnley Offshore Supply, Norwegian Fund and Asset Management Association, Warner Music, De Bergenske Hotels, The Norwegian Government Agency for Financial Management, U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Centre, The City of Oslo, and Gjensidige.
Knut has extensive experience in research, dissemination, teaching, and writing. He has organized and taught courses from undergraduate to graduate level at university. His fields of study have been quantiative and qualitative methodologies in the study of religion, the evolutionary and cognitive science of religion, new religiosity, and digital humanities. He has done podcast interviews of Holberg Prize laureates and been a columnist in newspapers like Klassekampen, Sysla, and Morgenbladet.

David Blass is a full-time open source TypeScript developer and author of ArkType, a 1:1 validator for TypeScript. ArkType is the first validator to include a static parser that can infer TypeScript’s syntax as well as a full type system that can compare arbitrary pairs of types for assignability and automatically discriminate unions. Predictably, David loves parsers and types, but also bow ties and his wife’s vegan cooking. He lives with her and their 5 pets in Boston, Massachusetts, and is currently pursuing funding to continue working on ArkType full-time!

Stewart invents fun future things in collaboration with his amazing colleagues at Unity Technologies where he serves as Head of Consumer Augmented Reality.
Prior to Unity, Stewart has worked with renowned hybrid studios like Google’s Data Arts Team, Google Creative Lab, Amazon’s Emerging Technologies and Intelligence Platforms team, and Unity Labs. Together with his talented teammates, he’s won industry awards like the Cannes Gold Lion, created a virtual reality music video for LCD Soundsystem, and collaborated with Ernő Rubik to create the “Beyond Rubik’s Cube” traveling exhibition. What really makes Stewart happy is partnering with smart friends to take on the impossible – or the ridiculous.
Stewart received his Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Yale University. His artwork has been exhibited at various museums around the world, he’s taught graduate courses that mix code with graphic design, served on various industry panels, and is always excited about the future.
